2011 CARNIVAL DETAILS
The site along the southern breakwall of Forster is the perfect location for the Forster Fishing Carnival. The boat harbour and boat ramp are within a few hundred metres, great access for both spectators and competitors.
The facilities of the town of Forster are also within easy walking distance.
The site will consist of a large marquee holding 2000 people, complete with security, personnel and fencing. The site includes 5000 plus square metres of expo display areas.

- Overall heaviest fish of each eligible species.
- All estuary competitions, catch and release only, live weigh in.
- Bluewater, beach and rock sections, all fish weighed, gilled and gutted.
- Snapper on Plastics, Wednesday 18th - catch and release, photo only.
- At least 20 random prizes worth over $4,000 in value drawn every night at 6pm after fish of the day prizes are presented.
- Entry available to all, even if you don’t fish! This encourages all the family to participate.
- Sunday 13th - Kids day! Special events.
- The major prize draw date will be on the Saturday evening the 19th March. Competitors must be there to win!

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th - Australian Bream Tournaments have been staged on Wallis Lake for 8 years. lt attracts the best Bream Anglers in Australia. Names such as Steve Starling, Kaj Bush, Tim Morgan, Captain Kevin Gleed, Michael Metcalfe, Chris Metcalfe, Chris Wright, Dave Seamon, Andrew Howard, Ian Miller, Darren Borg and a host of others have been drawn to the area. At $1,000 per team come and see some of the best anglers and high performance boats fish it out!
The megabucks is fished over 2 days with the winning team each day picking up the cash. Thousands of dollars are won. It is a team event with a huge following both local and interstate, drawing large crowds for the weigh in.
Using the latest in high tech equipment each team need to catch the heaviest 5 fish each day to get the money. It is a catch and release event with all fish returned to Wallis lake alive.
The ABT Megabucks also attracts a large number of static displays from the marine and fishing industry. Shimano, Evinrude, Quintrex, Lowrance, Hobie, Berkley, Minn-kota & Squidgie's to name just a few.
Come and see the latest gear that the marine and fishing tackle industries have to show!
As these are the main sections of the Carnival competition, it is important to see the rules section, explained in more detail.
This additional event is added to facilitate todays new breed of Sportfishing anglers.
It is exciting to participate in this challenge and a modern day approach to competitive fishing. Anglers will have fun competing and fish stocks are better managed.
There will be a new set of rules to adhere to, mainly to keep all anglers competitive. Enjoy the challenge!

This event will be run jointly with the ABT. Dates will be Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th.

This will be a one day;catch and release Team event, lure or fly only. No bait fishing or berlying allowed.
Teams will consist of two entrants.y one time. Teams are encouraged to enlist a sponsor and invite them to participate. Note: All competitors must be financially registered for this event. Please advise organizers of your team and the team's name.

What a day! There is nothing that makes a parent more proud than watching your kids compete!
This event is for junior anglers up to 15 years of age and will commence at 7.30am and finish at 2.00pm, Sunday 13th of March 2011. This will be a 2 session event. Times are 7.30am to 10.30am and 11.00am to 2.00pm. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Give you kids a change from there regular sport and bring them along to test themselves in a natural challenge!
