FAST FACTS
►  Covers an area approx. 98,000 ha between Cape Hawke & Birubi Beach Life Saving Clubs & all estuarie waters of Port Stephens & the Karuah River, the Myall River and Myall & Smiths Lakes.

  Is a multiple use reserve with different areas zoned for certain activities.

► It is only in the sanctuary zones that recreational fishing is not allowed. 48% of the Marine Park is zoned for general use. 

 Provides important habitat for many threatened species eg. grey nurse sharks & the seabird Gould's petrel.

►  Is the largest areas of mangrove & saltmarsh in the state.

►  Contains a multitude of historic shipwrecks incuding the Satara, Oakland, Catterthun & Macleay.
