Wallingat National Park Camping
The banks of the Wallingat River provide pleasant camping areas (car-based camping only) - bring a canoe, a fishing line, camera, binoculars or just a good book for a quiet weekend away.
There are two camping areas within Wallingat National Park. Wallingat River camping area, on the eastern side of Wallingat River, is accessible by 2WD vehicles in most weather conditions. Ferny Creek camping area is a smaller more remote spot on the western side of the Wallingat River, at Ferny Creek.
Facilites are basic, there are no flush toilets & the river water is not suitable for drinking so please bring your own as well as firewood.
Walking tracks lead from this campground into the park.
Please note no bookings can be made for camping areas in the Park. Sites are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Directions:
The park is 30km south-east of Forster along the Lakes Way and Sugar Creek Road. Turn off 2km north of Bungwahl. All roads within the park are unsealed and narrow, and suitable for two wheel drive in dry weather. You can enter the park via either Sugar Creek or Thomas roads, both passing via Gur-um-bee picnic area should you wish to orientate yourself and find a bit more information about the park. Sugar Creek Road leads off from The Lakes Way, while Thomas Road leads in from Coomba Road.
