A catch and release bass fishing competition held at senior and junior levels. Heaps of camping along the river edge, prizes and refreshments available. All proceeds raised go to the fingerling fund. The Bass Bash Ball held on Friday night 10 February is a must for any fisherman who enjoys music and entertainment. Fishing starts daylight Saturday and ends 11am Sunday.

This great new multi-sport event will be held in and around the Port Stephens and Great Lakes area including Soldiers Point, Pindimar, Tea Gardens, Shoal Bay, Nelson Bay and Salamander. This off and on road multi-event will see participants swim 1.6km, then a mountain bike ride, then kayak from Tea Gardens to Shoal Bay with the final leg along footpaths and foreshore parks to the finish line at Salamander Shores, Soldiers Point. Nabiac Show

The Bowling Association of the Railway Institute from NSW, New Zealand, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia will be holding a carnival at Forster Bowling Club from 12 February to 23 February 2012. There will be about 180 participants If you enjoy watching a game of bowls, feel free to come along and enjoy the spectacle.

The biggest fight card in Forster's history will take place on February 18 at Club Forster. Chad 'Hollywood' Bennett, Newcastle's two time World Boxing Foundation welterweight champion will defend his World Boxing Organisation Oriental junior welterweight title again Thailand's Sapapetch Sorsakorat.  A boxing exhibition is also planned at Stocklands Forster during Bennett's 10 day stay prior to the match. The Battle of the Boats is one of the largest surf boat Carnivals in NSW and has given pacific Palms its largest annual event.  Boat crews from all over the state including Queensland and Victoria come to compete in this award winning carnival.  The carnival has deservedly gained a reputation as a well run event in a beautiful part of the world.  It provides crews with top level competition leading into State and Aussies titles.

Blackhead Bazaar Markets

The Blackhead Bazaar is a community market organised and operated by Hallidays Point Tidy Towns Committee. The Bazaar attracts a good mix of stalls selling arts & craft, flowers, bric-a-brac, clothes, fruit & veg, home cooked preserves, jams, pickles, cakes, biscuits, chocolates and gingerbread.  It is especially renowned for its large number of plant stalls ranging from specialised palms sales to tube stock and local native plants.  Other attractions include buskers, bouncy castle & pony rides.  A BBQ breakfast runs all morning.   Market runs from 8:30am - 1.00pm.  (nb. markets  September to May only.)

Forster Farmers Market

The Great Lakes - Great Produce group, consisting of food producers, restaurateurs, vegetable, fruit and herb growers and local people who are passionate about great food. Their aim is to promote fresh produce grown or made in the Great Lakes, and the neighbouring regions of Gloucester, Greater Taree and beyond. Some of the produce to be found includes country style breads, cheeses, coffee, bottled preserves, native and rainforest plants, organically grown and bio-dynamically produced foods.  Market runs from 8.00am - 12noon.

Tea Gardens Village Market

Pacific Palms Market

This is a market with definite atmosphere. You can wander through colourful stalls and browse the collection of local handmade jewellery, timber carvings, body products, hemp clothing, eco & fair trade products,  even a Tibetan stall where you can purchase Tibetan prayer flags, affirmation scrolls or a metal singing bowl....  The Palms Market is famous for its great organic foods and coffee. This is a popular market located harbour side near the bridge and has the added advantage of being seen from the main street in Tuncurry. This is totally open air with use of the under cover Podium for entertainment.  Many of the stall holders come from the local 'North Coast Region' and sell a diverse range of products, from handmade wooden toys to handmade organic skincare. A good variety of clothing, lots of plants, plenty to suit all tastes.   Also available at the market is face painting and the famous Coastal Patrol BBQ.  Market runs from 8.00am - 2.00pm.
